this is a brand new approach to our hide tanning workshops, we will be offering participants the opportunity to choose between tanning a sheepskin OR tanning a buckskin. there are similarities and differences between tanning hair on/hair off hides. sheepskin students will leave with a finished rug and buckskin students will leave with a supple, sturdy textile for future crafting. please leave a note which the hide you are choosing!
please plan to arrive Thursday evening for a group dinner before starting on the process Friday morning. camping will be available on the land with composting toilets and showers. dinners will be provided Thursday-saturday and simple breakfast Friday-sunday morning. because of the nature of these workshops refunds are not available. more info will be provided via email following registration. workshop will take place on a rural property outside of Boonville CA.
